Company History
A New York State Corporation located just outside of JFK International Airport, Worldnet Shipping was formed in 1987 by Gary Stefanello and Thomas Dwyer. Their goal was to provide a full range of multi-model forwarding services. Together, they met this goal by providing state-of-the-art domestic & international mail and freight services. Since its inception, Worldnet has expanded to fulfill the needs of their clients and has seen a steady growth.
In 1996, Worldnet was approached by European postal authorities to handle their logistics for U.S. mail products. Worldnet took on this task and began handling the logistics which included air freighting, sorting, and induction into the USPS mail stream on a local level. This venture, paired with Worldnet's overall continued growth, led to the expansion of local induction into over 500 USPS Sectional Center Facilities throughout the U.S.A. This successful endeavor drove Worldnet to seek financial opportunities whereby U.S.A corporations could enjoy the benefits and postal discounts of this infrastructure.
Worldnet saw global development in 2001 by launching the opening of their U.K. facility, based in London's Heathrow Airport, headed up by Steve Tweddell, Director of Operations. This trend continued into 2002 when they expanded again in special projects and time sensitive cargo in Aberdeen, Scotland. Aberdeen is run by directors, Ron Ritchie and Jan Ritchie.
In 2005 Worldnet turned its attention to the Internet Retail Market, providing retailers with country to country- door to door parcel service. Growth has been tremendous. Our services and ability to move parcels has enabled retailers seamless trading around the world.
Through 2011 Worldnet Shipping is moving millions of parcels around the globe through direct injection and postal products. Services provide end to end tracking and exception reporting.
